There is already a version for windows technical preview of the pl2303 driver?

I upgraded the windows system 8 for the technical preview, starting this time the USB converter cable for serial stopped working.

Hello Sergio,

I am sorry to hear this. Officially there is no support for the serial adapter -> http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowPro… but I imagine there might be other underlying issues. There should be a chip checking utility bundled into the zipped driver folder. What happens if you have the serial adapter is connected and you in turn run the chip checker?

Kind regards,

good day
the utility that comes with the prolific driver, when I connect the cable, Windows does not detect the port com , so the utility does not think the rs232c to perform the chip test. As in windows 8 was working perfectly, I thought this newer version would succeed.

Hi Sergio,

Unofficially (I could not find any documentation on this) I heard the serial stack has been rewritten. So I imagine Prolific has to rewrite their implementation from scratch for Windows 10. I will contact Prolific to see if there is anything in the works.

OK,
I’m waiting
thank you

Hello Sergio,

I apologize this took to long, but I checked in with Prolific and they said the current driver should work with the preview. We might have an exception on our hands or other underlying problems.

I can offer assistance with this, but I would need PlugDebug (http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug). Since this forum does not allow sharing of attachments, please contact me directly at support@plugable.com and use “Ticket #79197” as a subject in reference to this thread.
