TBT3-UDV (thunderbolt dock) this morning one of my USB ports went dead. switched them around, power cycled device no help. it is one of the four ports on the back of the unit.
Hi Jacob,
Thanks for reaching out to us, I am sorry to hear about the USB port.
We can try to perform an extended power cycle to reset the internal Hub, please perform the following:
- Disconnect all cables, adapters, devices from the docking station
- Disconnect the docking station from the computer
- Disconnect the power supply from the docking station and let sit for 60-90 seconds ( this should discharge all the internal capacitors )
- Reconnect the power supply to the docking station
- Reconnect the docking station to the computer
- Connect one USB device ( like a keyboard or a mouse ) to the suspect port
Please let me know if this helps, if not we can move on to the warranty replacement process.
I apologize for the inconvenience,
Pat

hello,
ok I have tried the suggested extended power cycle with plugging only my mouse back in after the power cycle and the suspected port is still unusable. all other ports are still working as they are supposed to.
thanks,
Jake
Hi Jacob,
Thanks for double checking that. At this point I would like to start the warranty process.
To protect your privacy I would like to move this onto our email based support rather than a public form.
Please send us an email “support@plugable.com” with subject line “Ticket #219426 - Attention Pat”
In the body of the email, please send us the Serial Number for the docking station ( should be on the bottom of the docking station ), and the Amazon Order ID ( available from Amazon.com/orders ). With this information I can check the warranty and start the replacement process.
I apologize for the inconvenience,
Pat
