Slow Ethernet via USB 3.0 Docking Station

I’m using a two-year-old Dell XPS 15 laptop and the Plugable Ethernet driver seems stuck at 10Mbps no matter what I do. On wireless I get 250+Mbps download speed but using Plugable Ethernet it’s stuck at 10Mbps. There’s no VOIP phone connected. I’ve updated to the latest DisplayLink drivers and I’ve tried manually setting the driver to use 1Gbps speed but all to no avail. I’m connected to three 1920x1080 monitors if that makes a difference.

Thanks for getting in touch!

The Ethernet port on the dock is certainly capable of working at 1Gbps. Have you tested the Ethernet cable and router/switch you’re connected to on another Gigabit-capable device with good results?

Thanks for your quick reply! I followed your recommendation and did some additional troubleshooting steps and traced the problem to the QoS settings on my router. We’re all good now!

Glad you were able to figure it out!
