Setting up 3 monitors but only 2 will work at the same time; all are recognized.

I’m having trouble setting up three monitors on my tower. The computer recognizes all three monitors but only allows me to use two on the extended use. I can use all three if I duplicate one of the screens but otherwise one screen is just sitting there. Any thoughts on how I can fix the problem? I’ve tried a couple different ways to configure the monitors.
