I bought the device last month and installed it and used it for the first time with no problems. I kept my laptop on since then. I rebooted my laptop today but when it came back up the extended monitor attached to the device does not work anymore. I am not noticing the light on the device also and ther

I am using an HP ElitebBook, Windows 7-64 bit O/S, plugable UGA-3000
The extended monitor (HPw2207) is connected to Plugable USB-3.0 via DVI-D cable. Is the device dead? Any ideas?

Hi Alex,

Thanks for contacting us. I’m sorry the adapter stopped working properly for you. I’d like to help.

The first thing to try would be to clean the current DisplayLink drivers from your system and then re-install a fresh copy. If you would, please follow these instructions:

  1. Disconnect the adapter from the computer.

  2. Uninstall DisplayLink Core software from Control Panel->Programs. Don’t worry if this fails, just move onto the next step

  3. Download and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here:

  4. Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)

  5. Now download and run the 7.7 M2 DisplayLink software, found here:

  6. Reboot, even if not prompted to

  7. Once you’re back in Windows, reconnect the adapter to your PC which will trigger the final portion of the installation
