my previous PC crashed so I purchased a HP Desktop and tried to connect and my existing external hard to it, but it will not install the driver for it to work. I can see the external disk in my computer but when trying to access i get an error message stating (F:\ is not accessible) the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. Also, an additional message displays after that stating "you need to format the disk in drive F: before you can use it. But I don’t want to lose all my data on that external drive by reformatting it. can you help me with this one?
