Plugable UD-3900 Dual Display Docking Station not Connecting to Internet

Why doesn’t my Plugable UD-3900 Dual Display Docking Station does not connect my computer to the network or internet? My laptop does connect to the internet and network if I connect the Ethernet cable directly to it.
