can I order a owners manual or download one? Can microscope slides be used with this microscope for a grade school student?

There is no owner’s manual, the microscope only comes with a quick start guide to help get you up and running. The product page is the best place to go for further information:

This microscope isn’t ideal for viewing slides. Slides really need to be in a fixed working length microscope with back-lighting and a stage. We do have a microscope designed to work with slides and petri dishes here:
