I have the Nexus 7 2nd gen (2013) tablet with Marshmallow (android 6.0) and I just got the OTGE100 USB2.0 Ethernet adapter. I plug it in and I get lights on it and my network switch, but I get no IP connectivity. I have wifi turned off and airplane mode on. I’ve read numerous threads on various sites where users have this working fine, but I can’t figure what’s wrong. The Plugable info page for this adapter states it works with the Nexus 7 1st and 2nd gen. tablets.
I’ve tried shutting down and restarting the tablet. I’ve tried unplugging and re-plugging it back in.
My tablet is not rooted. Do I need to root it and install drivers?
