not sure where to begin?

i bought this after visiting a forum, but i’m still lost, not really computer savy in regards to doing this type of procedure. I have an old computer that i want to transfer pics/media from onto my new computer, the forum member stated that this would be the easiest way, so i purchased it. But still i’m not sure how to go about doing this. Do I:

a) keep my old computer up, plug in the cpu of the new computer, hook up the usb cables and do it that way? or do i

b) hook up the new computer, disassemble the old computer, but plug in the cpu? i’m really not understanding how this is going to work, because i’ll need to be able to view what i’m doing from the old computer (as far as locating the files to transfer).

any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thnx.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for posting your question here! I’m assuming you have bought a Plugable USB 2.0 Easy Transfer Cable in order to transfer the pics/media from your old computer to the new one.

If the product you bought look like the images given above, then both the computers have to be assembled and working for the transfer to be done.

Here is a link to a post which explains step by step how do go ahead with the transfer:
