No signal out of 4K port

Just purchased this unit and I can not get a signal of the 4K port using a HDMI 2.0 cord. Do I need to go to a 4K cord.

What make and model computer do you have? Not all computers support the 4K port on our dock. The 4K port requires the system to support USB-C VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode video output.

I wish I new this before I purchased the unit. I am returning it to Amazon. I don’t have time to troubleshoot products that should be ready to use out of the box.

I’m sorry to hear this. Please note that we do mention this fact on our Amazon product listing and Plugable product page for the docking station in the compatibility details.

USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 technologies are quite new and not all host systems (ie laptop, tablet, etc) do not yet fully support all of the feature sets required by our dock and docks like it.

If you’re not willing to troubleshoot you’re of course free to return the dock to Amazon, but we’re happy to assist in troubleshooting, or at least helping you understand what’s capable with your system.

Just set my computer back up, and now my UD-UTLCDL will no longer work with the 4k port either.
