my music didn't seem to transfer. what's that about?

I can’t find all the music I have. The photos came through, so what’s the deal?

Hi Gene-

Thanks for posting, sorry to hear your music hasn’t all moved! There are several common reasons for music not showing on a new system, and many are easy to resolve.

I’ll need some further details to be able to be helpful:

  1. Which program do you normally access your music from?
  2. Was your music stored in your normal user’s music folder, or perhaps in some special location (iTunes commonly does this).

Another common challenge here is that music was recorded on the old system with DRM (digital rights management) encoding that allowed it’s use only on the system it was initially created or downloaded on.

With a few more details I’m hopeful about being able to get your music to show as well as your photos.
