Multiple Monitors - only recognizing HDMI 4K

I have the Pluggable USB-C docking station. I have had three monitors plugged into it working fine, I replaced my laptop; same exact type "ThinkPad X1. However, on the replacement, it is only recognizing the HDMI 4K. Please advise.

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

It sounds like you have our “UD-ULTCDL” docking station based on your description, but please let me know if that’s not right (the model should be printed on the bottom of the device).

If only the HDMI 4K port is working it is likely because your new laptop doesn’t have the DisplayLink USB graphics drivers installed yet which are required to drive the additional two video outputs on the dock.

I would suggest performing a full clean install of the newest DisplayLink drivers via the following steps:

  1. Disconnect the dock from the system and please remove the power cable from the dock so it turns off completely. Please keep it disconnected until the last step.

  2. Download, extract and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here → and ensure it displays “Cleaning Complete” when done (video walk-through if you need it →

  3. Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)

  4. Now download and install the 11.0 M0 DisplayLink software, found here →

  5. Reattach the power cable to the dock first. Once the dock is powered on, reconnect it to your system which will trigger the final portion of the installation. If the device is not detected, please reboot the system.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
