Lenovo P70 Thunderbolt 3 Displayport

I have just bought a Thunderbolt 3 dual display port adaptor to use with my Lenovo P70 laptop. I’ve checked all of the BIOS and driver versions which are all up to date but the unit doesn’t work.

When I connect it to my laptop I just get a message saying “USB device not recognised”. I also get a device appear under device manager called “Billboard Device” with a yellow triangle warning.

Can anyone help?
