My ASUS laptop is not recognizing the USB 3900 as a power source. It has to be plugged in on its own cable or it operates on battery. My OS is Windows 10 and I’ve downloaded the 7.9 M3 driver.
Hi Sherry,
Thanks for posting. I’d be happy to help!
I see you also reached out to us directly via support@plugable.com. I will respond to you directly as well but for the benefit of anyone following this thread, our dock cannot provide power to your Asus laptop as the USB ports on your system are not designed to ingest power, only provide it to attached devices…this is true for almost all laptops. You will have to connect the charger that came with your laptop to the system while you use the docking station if you wish it to charge. If the lack of this ability negates your need for the unit, we have a 30-day no-hassle return policy and the quickest way to return the unit for a full refund is via the automated system at amazon.com/returns.
Let us know if that information helps and we’ll go from there.
Thank you,
Bob
