Help! Can't Connect MacBook Using Plugable Ethernet Adapter

I purchased the Plugable USB2-E100 USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet adapter. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro. I think the pluggable is a dud & I need a new one.
I thought perhaps my Mac’s GateKeeper was preventing this but their is no message provided in the General Tab under Security & Privacy tab, as mentioned in one of the articles provided through an emailed link.
Some things I tried:

  1. Used different ethernet cables (3 of them… tested them on other devices & they worked… so nothing wrong with ethernet cables)
  2. Powered router off for 5 minutes, then turned on, & waited 5 minutes try pluggable again… Did this process 3 times to no avail.
  3. Changed the ethernet cable to several different ports on the router… it does not even light up… shows no connection

Advice, please. Thanks!

Hi Christina,

I just wanted to acknowledge your post here in addition to our email communication and I’ve just sent you instructions to clean up the existing driver installation for this device as Gatekeeper is, in fact, blocking the drivers from loading. Looking forward to your results!

Wait. Just been super busy. So, when I click on the uninstall icon a pop up appears requesting a password… However, the pop up is not editable… What to do?

Hi Christina,

We can wait, that is not a problem! I replied to your email last week explaining the password “not showing.” When you type, it is receiving input, but it does not show the number of characters for security. I will reply to you again so we can troubleshoot in detail there.

Thanks!

Hi Christina,

We’re closing this thread as we were unable to get these adapters working with you Macbook Pro due to problems with Apple’s Gatekeeper interface and our drivers and, as a result, we have issued your refunds to close out this case.

We’re sorry we were unable to be your solution for this use case and thank you for your time and understanding.

Thank you,
