Headphone jack not working on USB 3.0 Docking Station with Windows 8.1 Samsung Ultrabook

Hi - I have a USB 3.0 Docking Station and am connecting to it with my Windows 8.1 Samsung i7 Ultrabook with DisplayLink_7.6M0 driver installed . I have some simple HP speakers hooked up the the plugable and they have worked in the past (with the plugable), as has the ability to just plug headphones in.

I don’t play music from them much so not sure when issue started but I am no longer getting sound through the headphone jack. The Sound | Playback settings indicate that it is using the plugable and sound going through (volume bar indicates activity when playing sound) - see attached.

I can plug speaker jack direct to computer but I do use several other computers for docking station and brag about my plugable all the time  so would love to continue the one and done connection.

Please help!

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for reaching out to us, I’d be more than happy to assist you with your Plugable docking station and getting it to work properly.

In order to figure out what is going on, we’ll need a bit of additional information.

First, is it possible to test the docking station audio jack with a set of different speakers/headphones.

Second, with the speakers connected, can you please go to this site, follow the prompts there, and send us the resulting .zip file.

Hi Stephen - not sure how - couple reboots, couple docks and undocks (?), but it is now working. Just checked the sound config and it is exactly as it was before so no insight for root cause analysis. Thanks for your quick response and time…I am back to one and done docking!
