I purchased a pluggable docking station 3.0 I have a surface 2 with windows RT8.1. I can’t seem to get the drivers to download. Any suggestions?
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for posting and I would be happy to help you with your Plugable product.
You mention you have a, “surface 2 with windows RT8.1” but to the best of my knowledge Microsoft did not make a Surface 2 with Windows RT (they did make a Surface RT version, note the lack of the ‘2’). Can you confirm which specific model you have? A good resource that shows all the different models Microsoft made is here -> https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-…
I ask because if you have a model that is running the standard version of Windows our USB video adapters and docking stations should be compatible, but if your system is running the ‘Windows RT’ variant unfortunately that means our devices would not be compatible and I just want to make sure I have the details correct.
A quick way to tell which version of Windows you are using is to right-click on the ‘Start’ button and select ‘System’ from the menu that appears. In the next window that displays, it should show which version of Windows your Surface is running.
Please just let us know which version you have when you have a moment and we can determine the next steps from there.
Thank you!
