DP to HDMI cable gray scale problem

I’m using a plugable DP to HDMI cable, and the problem is, I computer (Intel HD 530) recognize the monitor as a TV and output 16-235 gray scale rather than the 0-255 it should be. Any way to solve it?
I think it might be Intel graphics problem.

Hello ttklt, thanks for posting and I’ll be happy to help! Can you let us know the brand and model of monitor you are using? I am curious if there is a setting within the monitor’s menu that could help point us in the right direction. Some monitors have a Deep Color or Black Level setting that may have an effect on this.

Please let us know this additional information and we can go from there.

Thank you,

The same monitor, the same configuration, one is recognized as digital display and one is recognized as digital tv, so the gray scale is different

Hello, thanks for the replies, screenshots and videos. Just to confirm, when our adapter is in use is when the Intel Control Panel displays the connected display as “Digital Television Dell S2817Q” and the Hue/Saturation sliders disappear?

Assuming that is the case, I am currently researching what we can try as this is not an issue that has occurred before. I will keep this thread updated and determine steps to try ASAP.

Thank you,

Yes, when your adapter is in use, the monitor will be detected as a digital TV.
The picture above is the case on another computer, it has a HDMI port and I can plug the monitor directly to the laptop. And there is an option called quantization range, after change to full range, the monitor looks good. But when I use through your adapter, there is no such option.

Hello, thank you for the reply and my sincere apologies for the delayed reply. I did not receive a notification of your most recent response and I will look into why a notification did not occur.

Unfortunately, I’m not quite certain what is occurring that is causing our adapter to display different options within the Intel Control Panel and it is behavior I haven’t seen before. I will be working on reproducing this behavior to determine next steps, but understood if you would prefer to return our adapter for a full refund. If this would be your preference, we can reach out to you directly to assist with the refund process.

Thank you,
