Disable Spin-Down / Power Management for Plugable USB 3.0 SATA Lay-Flat Hard Drive Dock Windows 10?

Since my PC is always on I need to minimize the powering on / off cycles of my hard drives. I have been able to do this for all except the plugable tray. The tray cycles my drives dozens of times per day. There is a direct relationship between the number of power cycles of a computer and the probability of failure of its drives. How can I force the drive to stop spinning down?

see https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Minimiz… if you doubt this.

Model USB3-SATA-USB1

Hi John,

Thanks for contacting Plugable!

Our HDD docks will automatically spin down after a period of inactivity. This is a feature built into the firmware.

However, we do offer an alternative firmware that disables this feature so the HDD dock will be always on like your computer.

Please email support@plugable.com and mention the alternate firmware for the USB3-SATA-UASP1 and we will help you with the firmware update process.

Thank you,
Jordan
