One of my External Back Up Hard Drive has Failed and I want to transfer the files from the failed Drive to another External Backup Hard Drive. Can you use the Easy Transfer Cable to perform this task?
The cable has no special functionality beyond allowing the transfer of data between two functioning Windows PCs, so it won’t work for the data recovery that you’re attempting.
If you’re attempting to get data from a failed external hard drive, you’ll probably want to try some data recovery software as a first step. We’ve had good feedback about “GetDataBack” and “File Scavenger”, though there are many different programs available with a wide range of costs.
If you don’t have any luck with data recovery software, the only other option will be sending the drive in to a data recovery specialist such as DriveSavers.
