I do not have room on my desk for a laptop. There is a cubby where the desktop used to sit but I will need to close the screen to use it. Can I use a docking station to solve this problem and will the laptop run in the closed condition
Hi Gary,
You can absolutely run your laptop with the lid closed and have an external monitor still connected and active. In Windows you’ll find the settings for what to do when the lid is closed under the power options. You can get to the power options by right clicking on the battery icon in the system tray.
For Mac it’s different but possible, here’s a link albeit a little old that talks about ways to do it.

I hope that helps. Let me know if there’s anything else I can assist with.
Thanks,
Jerome.
