Just purchased a USB3-VGA. Plugged it in and it ran an install. After installing, it says to reboot the computer. When I reboot, I get the Blue Screen. After restoring the computer to before I installed, I tried installing again. Same thing…Can’t start the computer. Blue screen comes up immediately. I’m going to try to download the drivers from here and see what happens but any other help would be great. I have a 1 year old HP laptop running Windows 7. Thanks
Hi Ron,
Thanks for posting your question here! We usually see a blue screen after installation of DisplayLink drivers when a non-DisplayLink based USB graphics adapter had been installed previously on the system. Uninstalling the non-DisplayLink drivers usually fixes the issue.
Here is another post where another customer saw the same issue: http://support.plugable.com/plugable/…
If a non-DisplayLink USB graphics adapter has not been installed on the system, do run the DisplayLink Support Tool (instructions here: http://plugable.com/support/tools/dis…) and send us the .zip generated on the desktop as an attachment to support@plugable.com along with your amazon order ID and a link to this thread?
We will analyze the .zip to figure out what is causing the issue and how to resolve it.

That would probably be the problem then. I’m restoring now and will uninstall the other one.
I’m currently running a SIIG adapter and wanted to add another so I bought yours. So what your saying is I can’t use them both?
Ron,
That’s correct! You wouldn’t be able to have USB graphics adapters from different technologies to work well on one system. Sorry about that!
If you intend to use the SIIG adapter, I’d recommend using our 30 day hassle free return policy to return our Plugable USB3-VGA for a refund.
