blue ray player on computer does not work when 2nd monitor is hooked directly into 3.0 docking station’s hdmi slot. When I unhook and connect directly to my computer’s hdmi slot, the blue ray player works on the 2nd monitor just fine. Is there a way of getting it to also work while connected directly to the docking station?
Hi Ken - Thanks for posting to ask! This is likely because of HDCP Digital Rights Management / Content Protection. Blu-Ray players that enforce HDCP may refuse to play back over a connection that isn’t HDCP enabled end-to-end, which wouldn’t be the case for a USB connection through this dock. Different Blu-Ray player applications on Windows may have different behaviors.
So you’ll want to plug in directly when you’re playing a Blu-Ray movie if possible. Hope this background helps - let us know if you have any other questions at all!
