I bought a Plugable Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort Adapter for Windows and got an interesting issue. I got a Dell XPS 9650, latest firmware, bios etc etc.
When I plug 2 - 4K LCD using the adapter all woks fine but when I plug in my BenQ BL3200 which is 2560*1440 nothing works and the laptop screen just flickers, I have tried to plugin the LCD by it self and also paired with another LCD and in both cases same issue. I can power 2 - 1920 * 1080 or 2 - 4K fine.
dont know if this is a benq LCD issue or resolution issue
Thanks
Jay
Hi Jay,
Thanks for posting, and thank you for the detail you provided that is most helpful.
Given that the adapter is working properly with two 4K and/or two 1920x1080 (1080P) displays, we know that the Plugable adapter itself is working properly to look elsewhere for the cause. We will do our best to help of course, but just to set honest expectations up front we may not be able to provide a solution for using the BenQ display.
Given your description of the behavior, our first step is to get some additional information. Can you confirm that you are using a standard DisplayPort cable (a cable with a DisplayPort connector on both ends) to connect the BenQ display to the Plugable adapter? I ask because other types of cables (or converters if they are in use) can cause similar problems.
Thank you,
Bob

Hi Bob,
Yep, Displayport cables and I bought the 4K versions.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for getting back with the cable confirmation. Our next step is to get some additional information about your system.
If you would, please send the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug –> http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug to support@plugable.com with ‘For Ticket # 218334’ in the subject line. This will allow us to match things up and examine some log files from your system to help determine the next steps. (* Please do not post the file in our public forum *)
Please also include with your direct email a screen shot (http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/) of the Thunderbolt 3 ‘Details’ information from your system by following the steps under the “How do I check which version of Thunderbolt 3 software and NVM firmware I am running in Windows?” from this link -> http://plugable.com/thunderbolt-3/sup…
Thank you,
Bob
Took care of Bob. Thanks for all the help
