7 Port USB 2.0 Hub Fails to power Pi 2

My keyboard is not recognised (no blue LED) when connected to my Pi 2. However it positively glows when I connect it to my iMac.

It also fails to power the Pi when I disconnect the Pi’s power supply.

Hello Gary,

I am sorry to hear this. Please perform the following steps:

  1. Disconnect all peripherals from the Pi
  2. Unplug the USB hub from power and wait for 30 seconds
  3. Plug the USB hub into power only and wait for 10 seconds (red LED should light up)
  4. Connect the Pi’s power cable to any USB port on the USB hub (USB A to micro B cable), A side to the USB hub, micro B side to the Pi, the Pi should boot up at this point
  5. Connect the USB hub to the Pi via the USB hub’s supplied USB A to mini B cable, B side connects to the USB hub, A side to the Pi
  6. Connect keyboard to the USB hub and test (should see a blue LED light up near the corresponding USB port)
