USB 3.0 i/0 card -instruct users to install the power cable FIRST

Hi: The instructions with my USB 3.0 card said why the power cable was needed. What it did NOT say is that the plastic pins on the connecting cable require FAR more pressure than the 4 very small plastic tabs that hold the plastic to the card can support. I suspect many people beside myself have placed the card in first leaving off the power cable so they can better see the slots. Then, after seating the card, try to attached the power cable only to have the pin holder on the card bend off to 45%. I could bend mind back and reclamp, but I wish I had not made that mistake. thank you.

Hi John,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had with the power connector on the Plugable USB 3.0 PCI-e card. Is your PCI-e card functioning normally? If there’s any issue with the card now, just shoot an email to support@plugable.com and we’ll get you fixed up.

Thanks,
