USB-C Plugable Monitor Flickering

Hi

I have two monitors connected to my USB-C Triple Docking Station - a Benq and an HP.

From time to time, the Benq monitor flickers (may 1 in every 3 times). This seems to be triggered by the laptop coming out of sleep, being selected by a KVM, or when newly connected. To clear this, I need to power cycle the Plugable docking station.

The flickering appears to be purely visual and does not cause any application or OS reactions.

I’m running v8.4 drivers and it happens will all 3 laptops (2 different HP models and a Dell XPS13) that I use. I’ve tried different cables and removing the KVM but the problem still occurs.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Angus

Hello Angus, thanks for posting! I am sorry to hear of this behavior and I will be happy to help.

Thank you for the description of the behavior you are seeing and telling us the steps taken to troubleshoot. Since the same behavior occurs on three separate systems, with different cables and without the KVM in place the only other thing I can think of to continue narrowing things down would be to swap the connections to the HP and BenQ monitor, if possible, to see if the behavior follows the same port on the dock or if it seems to only follow the BenQ monitor.

If the behavior seems to occur on the HP monitor when swapping the cables then we would like to send you a replacement dock since it seems to point to a specific point on the dock that is causing this. We would reach out to the email address used to register on our forum in order to facilitate the replacement process.

Thank you,

David W.
