USB 2.0 OTG MICRO-B TO 10/100 ETHERNET ADAPTER connects to modem or to router? I tried both to modem, and to router with moto e XT1528 and moto x XT1528. not working, no lights on adapter. thanks in advance
So, my moto x has a battery sleeve. When I took that off and connected the moto x directly to the modem, and separately, to my router- voila! it works. Also, tried on a galaxy nexus, works also. Sadly, the moto e did not work.
I’m glad it worked, although I don’t understand why the Moto E didn’t work.

For reference, here is what I wrote earlier in response to the same request that came in via our support email:
The USB2-OTGE100 can connect to either modem or router. If you connect it to a DSL or cable modem, it will be connected directly to the internet service provider. Since many internet service providers won’t register more than one device at a time, you often have to power cycle the modem (turn it off or unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back on again) in order to force it to accept a network adapter it has never seen before.
With a router, you are connecting to your local network, where the router acts as the gateway and IP address server. In this case also, it is a good idea to power-cycle first the modem, and then the router when connecting. All 3 Moto X models and the 2nd gen Moto E model are on our compatibility list, so they should work with the adapter.
Also, I recommend trying a different network cable and USB port.
If power-cycling the modem and router and changing the cable and port don’t solve the problem, please let me know.

Buenas tardes. Tengo un lg g4 y el adaptador micro usb a rj45 usb 2.0 otg 10/100 ethernet para conectarlo a dicho movil. Se encienden los leds del adaptador pero no consigo conectarme a internet. Y no consigo encontrar los drivers para que conecte con mi lg g4.

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, our testing has shown that none of the LG models can connect with this adapter. Ultimately, it is the phone or tablet maker who decides whether to include the drivers when they make their device. If they do not include the drivers, they are impossible for the consumer to add later on.
