DisplayLink menu does not seem to allow extend change: always Right.
Had this installed on WinXP & had full menu to control the extend to Left/Right.
Now I have moved to a new system: Win 7/Home Premium/64bit. Display adapter is AMD 760g using the ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics driver 1/26/2011 V8.821.0.0.
When I click on the task bar as Right or Left, the Menu is displayed as:
* Display Link Manager
* Check for updates
* Optimize for video
* Fit for TV
* Advanced Configuration
Click DL Manager or Advanced config goes to same place: Control Panel Display Screen Resolution. This allows me to Mirror or Extend, but not which SIDE to extend.
Is this a feature that is not available to Win 7?
How can I move the image side? (w/o physically moving the monitors)
Thanks for posting! Yes, Windows 7 is slightly different. On XP, you had the choice of using DisplayLink’s tray applet for rough positioning (right or left), then could go to the standard control panel (called Display Properties on XP and Vista) for fine tuning.
On Windows 7, there’s just one UI path - everything related to monitor position is run through Windows 7’s standard control panel, rather than through the DislpayLink applet.
So just click “DisplayLink Manager”, or go to the start menu and type Screen Resolution to bring up the Windows 7 control panel.Then just drag and drop the numbered monitors on the control panel, to match their actual physical position on your desk:
I have tried this, but I still can’t go from middle (MAIN) monitor to the left to monitor #3. Still have to move to the right through monitor #2 to get to #3, which is set up on the left side of my main monitor.
