UD-3900 with ASUS laptop running Windows 10

I’ve just purchased the UD-3900 and have it connected to a brand new ASUS laptop running Windows 10. I have two additional screens and NAS server, wireless keyboard and mouse connected.

When it is connected, it’s slow and unresponsive at times. I move the mouse and about a second later it follows. I click a page and again, second later it starts to process the request.

Anyone got ideas what could be causing this?

Hi Sam,

Thanks for posting, and I would be happy to help with your new docking station!

Based on your description of the behavior, it sounds like there may be one or two different things happening. Let’s first speak to the mouse behavior, as it may inform us in regard to the possibility of a second item.

When using a wireless mouse, sometimes there can be wireless interference that can cause behavior similar to what you describe. When that happens, moving the wireless USB receiver ‘dongle’ to one of the top-most USB 2.0 ports on the back of the dock can often help mitigate the behavior. I have written about this in more detail if you are curious here (under the RF interference section) -> https://plugable.com/2017/03/17/troub…

If you move the USB receiver dongle as I describe, does that help with the mouse pointer behavior?

Thank you,

Bob

Hi Bob, thanks for getting back to me - I’ve moved the ‘dongle’ around the back of the dock and so far seems ok but will monitor throughout the day and fingers crossed.

Hi Sam,

Thank you for getting back with the update, and you are of course most welcome for the help. I am glad to hear that the behavior has improved after having moved the dongle.

Please let us know if anything changes!
