UD-3900 display resolutions not listed in Win 10 resolution list.

I have the plugable UD-3900 which I've been using with the ASUS T100 computer and have had an NEC 1700M+monitor connected at a resolution of 1280x1024. I just replaced that with an ASUS 23.8" monitor which supports 1920x1080 resolution. But, in Windows 10, when I try to set the display resolution, the highest resolution that Windows lists is 1280x1024 !? Shouldn't a higher resolution be included in the list? I bought the docking station in Jan of '15 and it said that it supports the higher resolution.

    Hi Dayton,

    Thanks for posting! The UD-3900 dock does indeed support up to two displays at 1920x1080, so given your description of the behavior our first step is to perform a 'clean' install of the latest DisplayLink driver we recommend to help ensure it is in a good state and not contributing to the problem. If you would, please follow these steps:

    1) Disconnect the dock from the system and please remove the power cable from the dock so it turns off completely (this is important so the unit resets). Please keep it disconnected until the last step.
    2) Uninstall any and all software with 'DisplayLink' in the title that is present from within the Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Don't worry if these entries are not present or if the process does not work, just move onto the next step
    3) Download and run the DisplayLink Installation Cleaner utility, found here --> https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin... and ensure it displays "Cleaning Complete" when done (video walk-through if you need it -> https://youtu.be/AcVV1gD_FvI)
    4) Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)
    5) Now download and install the 8.3 M1 DisplayLink software, found here --> https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin...
    6) Reattach the power cable to the dock first. Once the dock is powered on, reconnect it to your system. If the device is not detected, please reboot the system.

  • Thanks for the reply, Bob. As I pondered my problem last evening, it seemed that the docking station simply didn't have the new information about the display. I figured that resetting the dock would force it to re-determine which display was currently connected and, hopefully, apply new settings. So, I unplugged the dock's power supply for a minute, reconnected, and sure enough, problem fixed! Everything is working great again! So, I had done your steps 1 & 6 and that was sufficient. It's still good to have the information you supplied in steps 2 through 5, though. Thanks again.
