My Bluetooth speaker shows as paired, and sometime connected in Bluetooth devices, but in sound control it does not appear ad a sound device option. This is in windows 10 which I just upgraded to. In windows 7, I had no problems.

Based on your description, it sounds like this could be an issue with the Windows 7 drivers not being cleared out as part of the upgrade.
