Screenfreeze on USB 3.0 to DiplayPort Adapter (UGA-45DP) but mouse is still functioning.

Hi, I currently have 6 screens running on my computer, 4 on the “NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti” and two screens using the “Plugable USB 3.0 to DisplayPort Adapters” (UGA-45DP). The adapters seem to work fine for part of the day then they’ll freeze the content that’s on them (Windows, Tasksbar, Clock, Etc.), but strangely it still recognizes the mouse when I move them onto these monitors. Both adapters are connected to “HP EliteDisplay E221” LED screens through Displayport using USB 3.0 ports.

I’ve looked through the support section and have downloaded and tried the most recent drivers for this adapter (“DisplayLink Windows 10 Driver Version 7.9 M2” & “DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows* V7.9 M3”). I’m happy to see the 6 screens working together, but would be elated to overcome the screenfreeze issues I’ve been experiencing. Please advise.

As our adapters depend on both the graphics driver for your discrete graphics card and the USB host controller driver in your system there could be a few possible software causes of the behavior. From your description it sounds like you have the adapters directly connected to your system, if that is not the case and you are using a hub the first step would be to remove the hub from the equation to see if the behavior is different. If that doesn’t change the behavior or if they were already directly connected, the next step is to have you keep everything connected and just after the freeze occurs run our diagnostic utility PlugDebug -> http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug Once complete please send the file to support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket 126738’ in the subject line so we can match everything up. If you could also include your Amazon Order ID number that would be most helpful.
