Problem getting Plugable USB-C to HDMI 2 adapter to output 60Hz to LG 4K monitor

I recent purchased the Plugable USB-C to HDMI 2.0 adapter to connect my Dell XPS 15 9550 to an LG 27UD58 4K monitor. Unfortunately, the adapter is only outputting 30 Hz to the display and not 60 Hz. I am using an HDMI 2 certified cable as well. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I need to do in order to get it to work at 60p??

Hi Tim, thanks for posting! Sorry to hear that you are unable to display a 60Hz refresh rate when using our adapter and I will be happy to help!

Thank you for letting us know the model of system, display and confirming that you have an HDMI 2.0 capable cable. We have had good results when using our adapter with the Dell XPS 15 and I would expect it to work in looking at the specifications of the LG monitor, regardless of HDMI port you are connected to. From here, we’ll want to examine some log files to see if they can tell us what is happening. To help us do so please download and run our diagnostic utility PlugDebug –> http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug with everything connected. Please send us the file that is created on the Desktop by attaching it to an email to our direct support email address at support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket Number 155053’ in the subject line so we can match everything up. We’ll examine the logs and determine next steps from there.

Thank you,

David W.
