I have a work laptop and a home desktop that I wanted to share a monitor with. I purchased a VGA/USB KVM switch which works fine, but I didn’t want to have to plug/unplug all the connections every time I wanted to switch to my laptop. I purchased the Plugable UD-3900 Docking Station to solve this problem with it’s USB 3.0 plug in. One plug, ideal solution. However, now that I have everything connected, the two don’t appear to be communicating and extending the monitor, keyboard and mouse from my desktop are not working with my laptop. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I need a specific switch to work with this docking station?
