plugable ud-3000 ethernet disconnects and reconnects every 3 seconds

plugable ud-3000 ethernet was working well, but now disconnects and reconnects every 3 seconds.

I tried a different ethernet cable but same problem. I also pulled out the power and usb cable for > 30 seconds to see if that would help. It didn’t.

Any ideas? I had to switch back to wifi.

P.S. I’m running El Capitan with the 2.5 beta 2 DisplayLink drivers.

I thought of switching back to 2.4, but don’t know if I can.

I uninstalled the 2.5 beta 2 DisplayLink driver (twice) and reinstalled the 2.4 Driver and things seem to be working on the ethernet port again.
