I’m a network technician. I’d like to know if I can use a pluggable adapter with my Android ZET tablet to log directly in to devices over ethernet. I’d have to change my IP and Subnet in the adapter. Most of the devices I work on have a web based gui and are accessible by IP address with either Chrome or Firefox. My tablet is running Marshmellow 6.0.1. USB Micro Type C.

Android compatibility with network adapters is not universal. Support for network adapters is at the discretion of device manufacturers and can vary from one model of device to the next.
On our product page for the USB2-OTGE100 we have a compatibility list for devices — http://plugable.com/products/usb2-otg… — Currently no ZET/ZTE devices are known to be compatible. This makes it unlikely that trying to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter with one of our USB-A network adapters would work (we have not tested this to work on Android either).
Also, even on devices where the adapter does function, Android does not have controls for manually specifying network settings on the adapter, it will only obtain configuration data using DHCP.
I would recommend contacting ZET/ZTE regarding their compatibility with wired network adapters to get further clarification.
