Mouse pointer moves randomly by itself!

This has been the problem since I bought the Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station last year ---- I used the docing station to connect with Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, I connected the following items on the docing station: the mouse, keyboard, removable drives, ethernet, HDMI, VGA. Once for awhile, the mouse pointer would randomly moves and clicks but oftenly it goes to the right bottom corner clicking on the Clock/Time then the adjustment window pops up. I have contacted Lenovo tech support, and updated all the drivers etc., the issue still exists. But lately I tried not to use Plugable but connect the list of devices given above directly to the laptop, the mouse works fine. Now I suspect there is something not right about the docking station, it may mess up the HID data input with some other input when sending to laptop using single USB3 connection. Anyone encountered similar problems before? If Plugable Technologies support person can help, that will be great!

Hi Yuan, thanks for posting! Sorry to hear that your mouse cursor is moving while connected to our dock and I’ll be happy to help! I will be making some assumptions regarding your setup, but by chance would you be using a wireless mouse with a wireless receiver that you are connecting to a USB port on our dock? If so, is the wireless receiver being connected to one of the front two USB 3.0 ports on our dock? I ask because our dock does not directly interface with mouse cursor input and it sounds like this could be related to a wireless interference issue that can occur between any USB 3.0 device that is connected to a computer (not just our dock) and a wireless signal running on the 2.4GHz wavelength. Although a bit technical, Intel has written a paper of the behavior here –> http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/e… if curious.

As a potential remedy, would you be able to move the receiver to one of the top most two USB 2.0 ports on the back of our dock? The goal here is to move the wireless receiver as far away from the USB 3.0 host controller within our dock that could be emitting the interfering wireless signal.

Please let us know if the above test helps and we’ll go from there.

Thank you,

David W.
