Installing USB to HDMI adapter driver

I cannot install driver disk for the USB-HDMI adapter. I get a message that reads " failed to install displaylink core. Installation of displaylink graphics cannot continue" Can you help me to install the driver? Herb

Hi Herb,

Can you tell me a little more information about your system? What operating are you running? What is the make and model of the computer? Do you have administrative access to install drivers. Also, it’s possible you have a corrupt file on your driver CD, to download drivers directly from DisplayLink follow this link:

http://displaylink.com/support/index.php

Be sure to download and install the 5.6M1 package, it’s what we’re currently recommending.

Let me know if you have any more questions, and reply back with the OS and machine info and we’ll get your drivers installed.

I have a Window XP, Dell Dimension 5150 computer. Administrative access ?? The installation disk came with the Adapter that I just bought… I tired to download directly from the website that you recommended (5.6m1) but I still get the same message as before.

Just to set expectations, I’d like to mention that the Dell Dimension is bit older of a system and doesn’t quite meet our minimum specs, so even once we get the drivers installed you may not be happy with the performance. To continue troublehsooting the drivers, please download and run the DisplayLink support tool here:

Then, email the resulting zip file that it places on your desktop to support@plugable.com.
