does usb cable transfer from pc to surface rt work

Can’t seem to get an answer to simple question; can I make an A to A usb transfer between my win 7 pc and my surface rt tablet? Flash drives work fine, so I don’t see why not, but I’m not ordering a cable unless I know it works…

Thanks for asking ahead! No, Microsoft does not have support for Windows Easy Transfer using Easy Transfer Cables in Windows RT (the Surface RT).

They ship a limited set of drivers for the Surface RT, and don’t allow adding devices drivers later.
