docking station causing mouse issues

I’m using Plugable USB 3.0 docking station (3900 I think? model not on the box) with a Lenovo laptop (Win 10) which has a Bluetooth mouse. Since adding the docking station and installing drivers I’m having problems with my mouse lagging. It’s an intermittent issue. It doesn’t move smoothly anymore.

Hi Johnny, thanks for posting! Sorry to hear of the mouse lag you are seeing while connected to our dock and I will be happy to help!

Based off of your description, we will want to reinstall the DisplayLink drivers and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool to make sure that the hardware is in a good state. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the dock from the system and please remove the power cable from the dock so it turns off completely. Please keep it disconnected until the last step
  2. Uninstall the DisplayLink Core software / DisplayLink Graphics Driver from the Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Don’t worry if this fails, just move onto the next step
  3. Download, extract and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here –> http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/… and ensure it displays “Cleaning Complete” when done (video walk-through -> https://youtu.be/AcVV1gD_FvI)
  4. Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)
  5. Run Windows Update (Start > Settings > Update & security). Reboot if/when prompted. Repeat this process until there are no new updates found. This is important as Microsoft has been releasing frequent updates to Windows 10.
  6. Now download and install the 8.0 M2 DisplayLink software, found here –> https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin…
  7. Reattach the power cable to the dock first. Once the dock is powered on, reconnect it to your system when prompted by the installer which will trigger the final portion of the installation

If these steps help, great! If not, we’ll want to examine some log files to see if they can tell us what is happening. To help us do so please download and run our diagnostic utility PlugDebug –> http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug just after the behavior has occurred and you have restarted so we can try and capture the behavior. Please send us the file that is created on your Desktop by attaching it to an email to our direct support email address at support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket Number 154111’ in the subject line so we can match everything up. We will examine the logs and determine next steps from there.

Thank you,

David W.

Mine is UD-ULTCDL, not only mouse but my keyboard is painfully slow too… i resorted to plug my logitech receiver directly to my MacBook Pro.

i reinstall the drivers in both mac and windows, still doing it. I wish Johnny V send us progress or result (if ever he has done all those steps)

Well, I ended up trying another Bluetooth mouse, this time a Logitech, and it works a lot better. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough that I no longer want to bother messing with it.

Gotcha… anyway, im observing my current setup… I have Dell monitors and as per monitor’s manual it is suggested to use specific downstream USB port for wireless devices… So far so good…

Anyway, I’m glad you’ve overcome your issue.
