DisplayLink Software Installation Error

I keep the following error upon installing the driver.

“DisplayLink software has detected USB graphics software installed from a different vendor. This software is not compatible with the DisplayLink USB graphics software and must be uninstalled before DisplayLink software can be installed.”

Has anyone seen this error before? My IT dept at work said there are no other USB graphics software installed on my PC. They do not know what to uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for contacting us! I am sorry this is not working as expected.

Based on your description of the behavior, our first step is to get some additional information from your system.

If you would, please send us the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug ( http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug ) as this will allow us to examine some log files from your system to help determine what software is being detected that is halting the installation so we can determine the next steps.

Please attache the zip file to an email to “support@plugable.com” with the subject line “Ticket #224391 - Attention Pat” to make sure I can see it and match the log file to this thread.

Thanks,

Pat

Hi Josh,

Thank you for providing the PlugDebug log file!

This system has had a Trigger II based USB graphics adapter installed which is not compatible with the DisplayLink software. If you are not using the Trigger II based USB graphics adapter we can go ahead and remove the software and this should allow the DisplayLink software to install correctly.

Please perform the following to remove the MCT Corp Trigger graphics software:

  1. Uninstall any and all software with ‘Trigger External Graphics Family 17.06.1120.0179’ in the title that is present from within the Control Panel -> Programs and Features.
  2. When completed, restart the computer
  3. Run the DisplayLink installation software

Please let me know if the DisplayLink software installation completes successfully or if it still detects incompatible software.

Thank you,

Pat
