Display resolution on S32D850 was lowered to enable V2330V

I setup my new plugable UD-3900. The driver was installed correctly.
I connected 2 monitors.
At startup I got a message " Display resolution on S32D850 was lowered to enable V2330V. Disconnect 2330V to get higher resolution ".
I’m using Windows 7.
Is there a way to get a higher resolution on both monitors?

Hi Sandrick,

Thanks for posting and for the excellent problem report notes – this helps immensely.

The UD-3900 ( https://plugable.com/products/ud-3900/ ) is only capable of running a display at 2560x1440 resolution at 50Hz on the HDMI interface if it’s the only display connected. With two monitors attached the maximum resolution of the displays is 1080P at 60Hz. So this is why you’re seeing the resolution-lowered notification on the Samsung 32" SD850 monitor to 1920x1080. (We do mention this behavior in the listing, but are always looking for ways to improve how we convey these complex technical details! "2560x1440 output only available when using a single HDMI display. If dual displays are connected, each will be limited to a maximum resolution of 1920x1200. 2560x1440 output requires a “High Speed” HDMI cable. 2560x1440 mode operates at a 50Hz refresh rate; all lower modes support 60Hz refresh. 2560x1440 output requires current DisplayLink drivers and attached monitor must natively support 2560x1440 via HDMI input ")

One option to achieve native resolutions on both displays would be to connect the AOC 2330V monitor to another USB graphics adapter, for instance our UGA-3000 ( https://plugable.com/products/uga-3000 ) USB 3.0 HDMI/DVI/VGA adapter can be connected directly to the docking station’s USB 3.0 port and will run the AOC monitor while the docking station runs the Samsung monitor, both at native resolution.

Another option would be to return the UD-3900 and go with our UD-6950 ( https://plugable.com/products/ud-6950 ) USB 3.0 4K DisplayPort Docking Station, using a customer provided DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable for the Samsung monitor and a customer provided DisplayPort to DVI adapter for the AOC monitor (plugable.com/products/dpm-dvif ). While more elegant this is also the more expensive choice as it requires more adapters and cables be changed.

We’re happy to help with a return of the UD-3900 if you’d like to go in that direction – please email support@plugable.com and reference ticket number “206891” in the subject line, please also include the Amazon order ID number ( available from https://amazon.com/orders ) in order to help us process the return and get your refund.

Thank you,

Pat
