Display adapter causing mouse to jump around

I installed the UGA-3000 yesterday. During the installation, I was told to uninstall a previous USB display adapter (Fresco Logic). After several tries, it appeared that all traces of the Fresco Logic adapter’s drivers were removed. The rest of the installation of the UGA-3000 proceeded without any additional error messages.

Upon completion of the installation, my mouse’s functionality became intermittent. The mouse jumps from spot to spot and has difficulty moving from monitor to monitor. At times, it just locks up.

I think there is probably some portion of the Fresco Logic drivers still active in my system. Any suggestions to correct this are appreciated.

Hi John,

Thanks for posting and I will be happy to help!

By any chance are you using a wireless mouse? You probably have already checked but are the batteries new or fully charged? Is the receiver plugged into a USB port that is close to our adapter?

Any USB 3.0 device connected to your system (not just our adapters) can emit RF interference in the 2.4Ghz range that is used by most wireless receivers. Without knowing your specific laptop model, I would try moving the receiver as far away as possible from the USB 3.0 ports and/or add a short USB extension cable (which usually come with most wireless mice and keyboards) to move the receiver even further away from the adapter itself to see if that improves the behavior.

Let us know if our assumptions are correct and if the suggestions help when you have a moment and we’ll go from there.

Thank you,

David W.
