Constant disconnections/reconnections with the Plugable USB 3.0 Ethernet Adaptor

Plugable USB 3.0 ethernet adaptor keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. it happens every 10-30 minutes, and the only popup/notification that appears is the image of a tiny USB in the bottom right-hand corner of the taskbar that disappears within a second of it showing up. I am using a desktop PC with Windows 10, downloaded the latest drivers for it, and got it to replace my built-in driver from Realtek which had problems since I got the Windows 10 operating system. I have disabled the Realtek network driver.
