While you’re on the right track, any users looking to add USB ethernet support to andorid devices not supporting it should understand that doing so will require voiding the warranty on the product by installing a custom android “ROM.” This is *far* more complex than most users would be comfortable with, and something we do not recommend or support as a result.
That said, if you feel confident following the procedure detailed in the link above you *may* have success- although your results may vary and will *NOT* be something we can provide any support for.
