Can't connect external monitor to Lenovo Yoga 720

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB with the NVidia GE Force GTX 1050 card and recently purchased one of your USB Type-C to VGA cables and I’m not getting any video on my external monitor (andolder Dell). I’ve looked at as many settings as I can find and nothing seems to recognizethe external monitor. I had hoped it would be as simple as plug and play. Am I missing something?

Would you be able to let us know the specific model of Dell monitor you are connecting to?

Assuming that the monitor’s input setting is set to VGA, we’ll want to send you a pre-tested replacement cable to make sure that the hardware is working properly. Please contact us direct at support@plugable.com with Ticket Number 193775 in the subject line. Also please include the Amazon Order ID number for your purchase and your preferred shipping address to send the replacement in the body of the email. We’ll then be able to begin the replacement process.

Thanks so much for the response. The monitor is a Dell E17eFPC that was manufactured in 2005 (maybe that’s the problem). The monitor does work with a regular VGA cable connected to another computer.

Thanks for the reply and good info that to know that the monitor is working with a VGA cable to a different computer. Based off of this we’d want to send you a replacement cable as I would expect things to work with this monitor, although we have not tested with it specifically.
