Cannot "Keep changes" in Windows 10

I’m on Windows 10 with an Asus notebook connected to the UD-3900. I have two external monitors, connected to the UD-3900 via a DVI cable and a VGA-to-HDMI adapter. I am trying to get the main display on the notebook duplicated to one of the monitors so I can close the laptop. When I choose this option, the monitors flash and I can see the “Keep these display settings?” dialog box on on of the monitors, but I cannot select “Keep changes.” “Revert” is the only thing I can click on. Then it goes back to displaying on all three screens.

What’s ironic is that I can get this set up using my Windows 7 laptop that’s ancient compared to the ASUS!

Hi,

Thank you for posting and providing those details! I am sorry to hear about this issue with setting your main display, but I would be happy to help.

Based on the fact that you can do this successfully on your Windows 7 laptop, I suspect this is an OS issue that is not related to the DisplayLink software that the dock relies on. To set expectations, we’ll do our best to help you resolve this, but OS issues can sometimes be difficult to identify and fix reasonably.

To begin, I’d like to request some logs from your system so I can investigate further. Could you please keep the dock and monitors connected to your Windows 10 computer, then navigate to our PlugDebug diagnostic tool (https://plugable.com/support/plugdebug/) and follow the instructions there? This will create a .ZIP file on your desktop containing system logs and information. Please then send an email to support@plugable.com with “Ticket #232680” as the subject line and simply attach the .ZIP file there.

Thank you,

Mitchell
